Sunday Morning Inspiration

Finally completed the camping bracelets and with the addition to one more.  Melanie's cheerful yellow bracelet is adorned with an elephant, symbol of strength, wisdom & strong sense of loyalty to family - perfect reflection of her.  It's also deemed good luck if the elephant's trunk is facing upwards.

The spiritual OM symbol, also known as AUM in ancient Sanskrit,  meaning the soul, the self, the devine in the Hindu & Buddhist cultures,  was a good choice for Laura, as she seems drawn to the Indian culture.  I tweaked Laura's bracelet by removing the green beads and adding more blues.  I'm very pleased with the final results.

Woman-Power Bracelets

Next week, I look forward to an amazing woman's camping trip to Bruce Peninsula National Park, in Ontario, with two amazing young ladies, my daughter Melanie and her friend Laura.  While preparing lists of items required for the trip, I was struck with the idea of creating little colourful bracelets for each of us...a little memento to commemorate our trip and to bond us as women.  Bracelets are completed, minus the individualized charms (to be customized later).  Here's to a memorable trip!

Wire Cage Pendants

Another inspiring day to create with 20 & 24 gauge silver wire, seaglass, beads & earth's gems!  Wire cages are excellent for housing healing stones, sea glass  or whatever is precious to you.  They can be worn as a pendant or charm.

I made a small cage with a bluish glass bead inside, and a large version with a polished Aventurine.  The latter is deamed to bring wealth and prosperity to the bearer.  According to Judy Hall who wrote The Crystal Bible, wearing Aventurine is known to absorb electromagnetic smog and guard against environmental pollution.  Cool! I personally just love the feel of gems and jump at any opportunity to purchase new stones!

Seaglass Inspiration

After dinner, out of the blue, I was inspired to gather my beading supplies, my collection of polished lake glass, a huge cuppa tea and create my first pendants.   I could do it and I did...I surprised myself and am so thrilled with the results. Thanks to Dollarstorecrafts for her excellent tutorial...you are an inspiration!
